PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES 2014

PAINTING AND/OR/VERSUS PHOTOGRAPHY – DISCUSSION WITH A CURATOR

Pupils of art schools are invited to evaluate and discuss a joint exhibition of painter father and photographer son (Jonas and Ignas Maldziunai), that is currently shown at Kaunas art gallery MENO PARKAS.

Art schools usually emphasize the technical training of future artists. This discussion will give an opportunity to take up the outside view of an art critic, to evaluate the work of another (artist), and to earn the first publication in cultural press: as the final result of the discussion the participants will have to provide a critical review of the exhibition; the best articles will be published in Lithuanian cultural weekly "Nemunas".
The idea has been initiated by the art gallery MENO PARKAS; the discussion will be curated by famous artist and curator, painter Eglė Velaniškytė.
